World Missions and Evangelism

Thompson Springs Baptist Church gives 10% of all undesignated receipts to the Tennessee Baptist Convention. The state convention uses 60% of these funds to support a wide array of ministries and missions including: evangelism efforts, adult and children’s homes, volunteer missions, missions education, new church plants, collegiate ministries, camps, and much more. The remaining 40% is sent to the Southern Baptist Convention. These gifts are used to send and support over 10,000 missionaries; train pastors and other ministry leaders; provide relief for retired ministers and widows; and address social, moral, and ethical concerns relating to our faith and families. Six Southern Baptist seminaries (Southern, Southeastern, Midwestern, Southwestern, Golden Gate, and New Orleans) educate in excess of 16,000 pastors, missionaries, and future church leaders each year. The bottom line – people around the world hear the gospel and receive Christ. Working together we accomplish more!

TSBC gives an additional 5% of all undesignated funds to the Bradley Baptist Association. The local association provides many mission opportunities such as Ocoee Outreach, Ocoee Resort Ministries, Project Helping Hands, Disaster Relief, and a Late Night Basketball Ministry.

In addition to these gifts; TSBC participates in several special missions offerings, supports the Rock of Ages Prison Ministry and Operation UK through our Wednesday night offering, and has members routinely volunteer for local  mission projects through the Baptist Men on Mission and Baptist Women on Mission orgainzations.
